Street Luge News - Justin

Justin Davis Stedt
1974 - 2002

It is with great sadness that  I announce the passing of Justin Stedt of Team Epic.  Justin was the President and Graphic Artist behind the graphically unique streetluge website.  His passing was not related to extreme sports.

Justin Davis Stedt was born on Nov. 9, 1974, in San Diego. He died tragically on Jan. 1, 2002, in Austria.  A person of limitless creativity and boundless joy who profoundly changed all of the many lives he touched.  He attended Grant Elementary, Del Dios Middle School. He graduated from Escondido High in 1992, attended Palomar College and graduated with distinction from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 2001.

While he was an artist of prodigious energy and ability, his true art was his life.  His favorite saying was from a fellow graduate of Art Center, world-renowned photographer, Wynn Bullock, "Creativity is an ode to life. It is not a form of entertainment. It is a form of joy."

He will be missed so deeply that there is no way to express the sorrow of his passing.  He is survived by his father, Thure Stedt and partner Michele Adams of Escondido; mother Jeanne Davis of Blythe; grandmother Dr. Pauline Stedt of Sun City; aunt Marlana Barry of Buffalo, N.Y.; uncle Jan Stedt of Imperial Beach; cousins Eric Rice, Brian Rice, Jasmine Stedt and Forrest Stedt; and four incredible women, each of whom he loved deeply in unique and significant ways: Rena Wessels, Diana Priddy, with whom he spent six wonderful years, Melodee Khazeie and Verena Cortez.

You may send contributions for an art scholarship fund established in Justin's memory to:
