Darren, Arlene, Kent and I spent a few days exploring upper Scotland. Needless
to say we ran across a lot of old castles and ruins. This one is called Ruthven
Barracks.
We had lunch in this one (actually a hotel that my Dad stayed in a few days later
- pure coincidence).
Urquhart Castle is right on Loch Ness (yeah, the one with the monster in it).
Duffus castle was (as all the caste's seemed to be) on a hill with an unending
view of the valley.
Kent and I were in photo heaven as the weather really improved on day 2.
We sought out most of the castles but this one we just stumbled across. I think
it was inhabited (yeah, people live here!).
This was castle Armadale on the Isle of Skye. This is the last remaining castle
of the Scottish clan Donald (MacDonald) - My grandmother's maiden name).
Apparently the Eilean Donan Castle is the most photographed in Scotland. We stumbled
across this one too.
