Champions will be crowned in Street Luge, Classic Luge (Buttboard), Downhill
Skateboard, Fairing Gravity Bike, Stock Gravity Bike, and Downhill Inline.

The Course: The Talimena Xtreme Downhill is a 1.1-mile section
of road located on the Talimena Drive just west of SH 259 in Southeastern Oklahoma.
This course has it all. Great acceleration with grades up to 16%, a chicane followed
by a decreasing radius turn, hard braking curves with top speeds in the mid 60
mph range.
This is a great technical road, nicknamed "Crash Course" by the
Oklahoma locals. This course is 1.13 miles long with an average grade of 11%,
and a maximum grade of 16%. Racers will start at an elevation of 1,971 feet, dropping
564 feet to 1,407 feet at the finish. There is an uphill breaking area after the
finish. The course has several very steep sections gaining speeds in the mid to
upper 60's (mph) with a gnarly chicane and a series of sharp turns you have to
break for.

Street Luge: $500 purse and awards will be distributed among the top three
finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors. This class
is open to all competitors. (Note: If fewer than 20 competitors participate the
purse will be reduced.)
Classic Luge (Buttboard): $250 purse and awards will be distributed among
the top three finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors.
This class is open to all competitors. (Note: The purse will be increased to $500
if at least 20 competitors participate. If fewer than 10 participate the purse
will be reduced. )
Downhill Skateboard: $125 purse and awards will be distributed among the
top three finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors.
This class is open to all competitors. (Note: The purse will be increased to $250
if at least 10 competitors participate. If fewer than 5 participate the purse
will be reduced.)
Fairing Gravity Bike: $125 purse and awards will be distributed among the
top three finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors.
This class is open to all competitors. (Note: The purse will be increased to $250
if at least 10 competitors participate. If fewer than 5 participate the purse
will be reduced.)
Stock Gravity Bike: $125 purse and awards will be distributed among the
top three finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors.

Downhill Inline: $125 purse and awards will be distributed among the top
three finishers. IGSA National Points will be awarded to all competitors. This

be reduced.)
Directions: From Ft. Smith, Arkansas take US 271 to US 59 to Heavner, Oklahoma.
Then take US 259 south to SH 1 (Talimena Drive). The finish line is <1 mile
west of US 259.
All racers flying in from out of state should fly to Fort Smith Arkansas Regional
Airport. It is a 44 min. drive from the airport to Poteau. Or you can make the
3 hour drive from Tulsa, Oklahoma City or Dallas Texas.

Practice: Saturday morning, June 15th will be an open practice session.
The course will be open from 8:00 am 12:00 pm allowing competitors four
hours of open practice.
Qualifying: Saturday afternoon, June 15th will be qualifying day. Each
competitor will receive two timed runs with their single best run counting toward
their bracket seeding. Timing is electronic and accurate to 1/1000th of a second.
Racing: Sunday, June 16th is race day. The top 32 qualifiers in each class
will race the Sunday portion of the event. Competitors will race four at a time
with the top two finishers from each heat advancing to the next round. The final
eight competitors will race in a consolation final and final to determine their
finish position. All other positions will be placed according to finish order
in their respective heats and qualifying times.
Details: Races are held rain or shine. Sorry no refunds or transfers. All
participants must sign liability waiver at event registration. (Parent or legal
guardian if under 18 years old)
Technical Inspection: All racing vehicles and safety equipment will be
subject to a strict technical inspection before being allowed on the racecourse.

Late Registration: Entries postmarked after June 3, 2002 will be subject
to a $25.00 late registration fee. Late registration will be available at the
event Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before qualifying.
Registrations at the event will be charged a $25.00 late fee and must be paid
in cash only.

Lodging: The Winding Stair campgrounds are located at
the top of the racecourse. These campgrounds are primitive camping but there are
very nice restrooms with showers located on the campgrounds. Full hook up camping
is available at Cedar Lake, seven miles from the racecourse. More Cedar Lake

The nearest motels are located in Poteau.
