Carros France - Race Course*

June 2-3, 2001
*Note - Race did not actually occur on this hill due to permit difficulties.

Let Manu Antuna explain the track.

In the middle of the map you should find a white road with the # 1, that is the track. It's 1.31 miles long and very turny.

The top is on the left, exactly where you can see the cross road with a little green street, so I guess you can imagine the start, it's gonna be right after the first little right hand corner at the very beginning of the
track, just a few meters after the cross road. Then you have a quarter mile straight part where the declivity is 8% NOT 8 DEGREES !!! The max speed in stand up will probably be around 48-50 mph.

After that you arrive on a tight right hand 90° and right after that a large left hand hairpin which dives slowly to smooth left hand 90° a tight right hand 180°.

Then it's time to increase your speed in a very large, long and not very steep right hand 70°, a 200 meters (1/8 mile) straight at 8-10% (it's the part where the number one is written on the map). As you can find out, the track arrives on a large and wide right hand 90° then a little 10% steep and straight drop and a big left hairpin, looking like the first big hairpin at Capetown

Then a long 8% straight with a beautiful and large left turn and a giant hairpin you can make at full speed arriving on a large hairpin exactly the same than the previous one, you're now at the bottom of the track.

There's a flat part and the finish line just after the large right hand 90°. The fast way to go to the top of the race is the green street (shortcut).
